Client stories | Blüthner Pianos

Blüthner, a world renowned piano-manufacturing company was founded by Julius Blüthner in 1853 in Leipzig. The Blüthner name has enjoyed an enviable reputation for over 160 years and continues to manufacture pianos of the highest standards of precision and craftsmanship, as well as operating showrooms in London, Leipzig, Michigan, Moscow and Vienna.

With their Berkeley Square Mayfair retail showroom scheduled for redevelopment, Blüthner instructed Lewis Craig to advise on their London West End retail relocation project.

Against the backdrop of an exceptionally strong West End market, with a limited supply of opportunities and an unprecedented level of retail occupier demand, we undertook an extensive search, resulting in the successful acquisition of a retail showroom at the new landmark 10 Portman Square building, developed by British Land in conjunction with The Portman Estate.

Located alongside Waitrose and Fired Earth, close to Selfridges, the new showroom opened in  Spring 2015 and offers a two level 4,070 sq ft facility of modern design and provides the perfect facility for the display of Blüthners extensive range of pianos, as well as featuring additional sound-proofed, air conditioned practice and recording rooms providing the opportunity for members of the public to enjoy piano lessons, rehearse and to make recordings.

It has been a real pleasure working with Lewis Craig on our showroom relocation and we value the input and expertise that they provided throughout the process, from identifying suitable premises, to negotiating terms and liaising closely with our solicitors and architects.
